started the year pretty adventurously by first climbing up to the castle, surviving the “battle zone” (one firework missed me by less than half a metre) and finally jumping down the castle wall to get back home.

In my book thats enough exercise for the next 10 years

Long time, no blog

Uni is still as boring as before…if I wanted to study plants or molecular biology I would have picked to major in plant sciences or molecular biology instead of neuroscience. Seriously.

On far more interesting news:

A friend and me were two of about 20 people in the audience for The Twilight Sad (support: The Death Letters) yesterday. I had hardly ever heard of them before (actually, I just looked at their myspace playlist) but a lack of anything better to do combined with the sparseness of indie concerts made me go

Anyway, it was great. I’m pretty sure the entire band was drunk/high/in another universe but the music was amazing and I sincerely regret not owning any of their music. Turns out I’ve even heard some of their songs before.

Marie even ended up “stealing” one of the posters because she was too shy to talk to the support band after the gig.

The sad part is: as we guessed they (The Death Letters that is) were actually minors (though the old lady in the back probably wasn’t their mother afterall) and they’re from the Netherlands!!! Since Marie is fluent in Dutch this could have been fun….or at least resulted in a reduced price for their CD which cut a major hole in my budget (and btw was even broken)

And wha’s the morale of the story: go see bands even if you don’t know them & don’t be too shy to talk to people. You never know what’s gonna happen

Just ended a rather unproductive study group which leaves me with only one third of the questions done and an annoying voice in the back of my head that’s telling me to do more reading.

So I thought I’d write another entry before I leave for Berlin.

I even had the entire thing written out (I’ve started using OneNote to get more organized) when I realized one thing while reading through:

The post was not only very long but basically a very long rant about me procrastinating.

I guess that’s why some people write diaries: lot’s of insight (or not) in retrospect.

So that entry is not going to be published any time soon

This leaves me with improvising which is kinda hard if you’ve done basically nothing the entire day.

Last week, however, I DID do something:

I went to see Molotov Jive at Zum Teufel, Heidelberg. For those of you who don’t know them: they are swedish, they play rock-pop-rock-blues-something, they are a 4-piece and did I mention they’re from Sweden AND look the part?

The location wasn’t totally packed but about as full as it gets on a Tuesday. And I even met someone I’ve last seen in Umea about a year ago (yes, the Umea way up in North-Sweden). I’m pretty sure that the constant swedish shouting came from him and his friends

All in all they put on a great show and everyone seemed to like it though hardly anyone knew their songs. The girls directly in front of me (from the looks I would have guessed literature or economics students; no offence though) kept having seizures dancing

Sadly I was way too tired to do anything but lean onto the bar to stop me from falling over. Guess the very slow (yet great) support Enno Bunger didn’t really help. Seriously, they were great; very melodic and great german lyrics – but it wasn’t for me that night.

So that was that. I’m now going to start packing because (drumroll please!) I’m leaving for Berlin!!! I’ll be seeing Muse, crashing at a friends place [fun-fact: I've last seen him in Umea, too], going to the zoo and then spend the rest of the weekend in Göttingen at Inas place.

In case I haven’t mentioned yet: Ina has one of the best flats I have ever seen:

• amazing flatmates: one’s a bartender, two are studying Scandinavian studies and have a huuuge collection of scandinavian movies
• they keep a PS3, a Wii and Singstar in a little fridge in the living room
• one guy temporarily moved out (renting his room to Ina) and left nearly all hic CDs and his soundsystem (which both are amazing, to say the least)
• Plus they’re living in a separate house; like a little cottage

aaaand (another drumroll please!)

• they have axolotl!!

So that should be great & hopefully I’ll be back without damaging my car again but with pictures
